My Favourite Posts

This is a post I have been meaning to write for some time but due to the exams (shamelessly saying) I had to put my shit together first. As it comes to the exams, I am half way through and the next exam is going to be in two weeks time. The break is going to be much appreciated.  I begun to write this fashion journal a bit over a year ago and things have advanced quite swiftly since then for which I own enourmously to Lily EDIT, but I have also put quite a lot of effort into the blog at times. For me this blog has always been about sharing my fashion inspiration instead of putting myself forward. I read all of my entries last night which was, first of all, a very useful exercise but simultaneously an emotional experience. I do not know why I had not done such a trip down the memory lane before because it enabled me to approach my blog from the reader's point of view and it gave me an idea how my blog has evolved and what kind of posts I personally like. I also had moments when I just thoughtwhat the fuck have I been thinking, especially when looking at the shit quality of some outfit posts and how my style has been lost in translation. Admitedly the quality of my posts has varied and it was easy to pick the periods when I have not taken the time to do things properly.

IN TERMS OF STYLE I STILL LOVE THE SAME THINGS.  It is a relief to know that style-wise my affections have not changed significantly during the past year. Obviously style evolves but not as quickly as fashion changes. There are a number of wish list posts which still get my heartbeat up and I would not mind getting all of those pieces. Just take a look at these entries - April wish list, Wanted, Pick of the day, Ruffles, Midsummer, Eyes on, Reference point and Cravings. As it comes to sharing inspiration, I love these posts - Backstage at Isabel Marant, The New Balenciaga, Silver linings, Current mood, Louis Vuitton FW15, Céline, Trend: Denim update,Pure and this entry is from when it all started (Chloé's SS15 collection is still divine, no?). It is not difficult to conclude that I love going through new collections for inspiration. I know that there is a lot of room for improvement when it comes to my outfit posts and I could definitely post them more often, even though I am not into editorial kind of outfit post as I like it a bit random and approachable. However, it would be great to have someone to take my piccies on regular basis. I think these looks give you an idea how I preferably dress up - Classic pleats, All white for new beginnings, The Blog Awards Finland and August 27. I have also managed to get my hands on a couple of killer pieces - New in from Gucci and Faye is here.

During the past few months I have opened up about my skincare routines which you can read about in these entries - Skincare update and Raaw in a jar. Unfortunately I have gone through a prolonged stuggle with acne which is why I wanted share my story - Curing Acne. Next up will be my make-up secrets.  I have always been into interior design, even though in my current life situation making my home dreamy is not the first priority - those dreams can wait until the day I know where I want live next and until I get my own place. In the meanwhile I have made sure that my vision is going to be crystal clear, just take a look at these posts - Decor inspiration, Spring feel,  Blue injection, Winter whites and Andrianna Shamaris. Besides it is nice to see how many stores put effort into their interiors like The Row's flagship store in Los Angeles. Pure love.

I am very thankful for how much I have been able to travel, especially before my years in university. This spring has been defined by weekend escapes to the fashion capitals. This first, very spontaneous trip was a week I spent with my brother in NYC which set the mood for this year. I am never going to forget about dancing to David Bowie's music in the rooftop cocktails bars of the city. The best times. You can see my photo diary and read about my favourite places to visit in NYC in this post and make sure to check out my dream home/shopping paradise - The Apartment by The Line.  I was in London in February to catch up with one of my best friends. I tend to hang out in Shoreditch and simultanously avoid shopping at any cost, heh. My new favourite spot is J.W. Anderson's store at Ace Hotel. Luckily I am going to visit London again before I will return to Finland for the summer.  The last gem before my studies got intense was the invite to Paris Fashion Week by Marimekko. You can see photos from Paris here.  THAT WAS A DREAM COME TRUE.  I am planning to make changes to the content of my blog - sharing my inspiration is still going to be the driving force as I love seeing my affections change and I will give you my best guidance to my favourite seasonal pieces.  In addition, I will try to produce more content myself and take outfit photos. Most importantly I would like to hear your thoughts on my blog - you can tell me in the comments or send me an email to hannasjournal@hotmail.com. For now that would be the best favour, and after all, you mean the world to me.
